Plane Ticket!

I officially bought my ticket for Ireland. I depart on August 28th out of Newark Airport (scary!) and will arrive in Dublin at 7am. I'm excited to meet the host family I'll be living with, and to explore Dublin and my university. I am especially apprehensive about paying for the homestay. I've just been informed tonight that unlike what I have been told a million times, I will have to pay for my living expenses in full before I arrive...this is just over $3,000 I'm talking about. Those Irish people are crazy. I'm seeing if I can get it sorted out. If I can't, then I guess the last resort is loans. But I really wanted to avoid that. *sigh* Oh well. Nothing I can do about their newfound policy short of asking for an exception, I guess.
In the short months prior to my semester abroad I'm working at a doctor's office that is supported by St. Vincent's Hospital in Erie, Pa. I get payed to feed papers into a scanner all day with glazed look in my eyes, awaiting my lunch 1/2 hour so I can stuff my face with a lean cuisine and talk to Christopher, my boyfriend. He and I have been dating for almost 9 months now. Not too long in the world of relationships (unless this was Hollywood, in which we'd be married with a kid named "Papyrus" by now), but it has been long enough for me to know that I'm crazy about him and that leaving him back here in the States for 3 1/2 months will be one of the hardest things. Christopher is approximately 5'4" (giver or take an inch....he's short, let's put it that way), has dark hair, and is quite possibly the most adorable creature ever. His past times are playing games on his DS Lite, surfing through webcomics on his Mac, and teasing me. He's very interested in movies (20 points for him already) and loves trying all sorts of flavors, blends, and roasts of gourmet coffee (1,000 points for him). Usually whenever we have time together, which is rarely because he goes to school in Philadelphia and I'm in Erie all summer, we usually go out for coffee and watch a movie...or vise versa. I'm sure I'll post more about him later...
This blog will probably be very basic as I have sort of lost what little HTML skills I had when I was in middle school and I seem to be somewhat of a boring and wordy writer. I'll try to keep my posts to a minimal amount of words, but I make no guarantees. I like to ramble sometimes and my mind makes these crazy connections and segues that don't really make much sense at all to anyone else. So, just beware I guess.

That's all for tonight. I think I'm going to get back to re-reading some of the Harry Potter books. [Face in hands] I'm such a nerd.
